Multi Beam Depth Sounding

CRA owns a high resolution multibeam system. The primary reason to use multibeam depth sounding equipment is to obtain 100% bottom coverage within an area of concern. For dredge events this helps determine the cubic yards of material removed and to ensure the contractor cleared the entire template to the desired project depth. Clients have also found multibeam data to be useful in discovering siltation rates and patterns within their project area. Multibeam data can be displayed in color contours, an elevation matrix, and as 3D surface plots allowing CRA to cater the deliverables to a clients needs.

Single Beam Depth Sounding

CRA has Teledyne transducers mounted within the hulls of some of our vessels and portable transducers that are mounted to the side of some of our vessels so that we can gather single beam data from shallow bayous to open bays. We have both 24 kHz and 200 kHz transducers on board to ensure we can perform dual frequency single beam surveys if a client suspects there is a fluff issue within the project area. These systems are capable of obtaining underwater elevations in areas too shallow for multibeam equipment.

Give us a call and we can help you determine which depth sounding system is best suited for your project.
